Alias Caracalla

Daniel Cordier was 20 years old on 17 June 1940, when Marshal Pétain asked the German victor for an armistice. Revolted, this convinced monarchist wanted to continue fighting. But it was a bit by chance that he found himself in London. Incorporated into the Legion of General De Gaulle, then unknown, he did his officer's training and then joined the secret services of the Free French. Parachuted in Lyon to take on the role of secretary to Georges Bidault, a member of the Combat network, he had to hand over the Resistance money to De Gaulle's representative in the free zone: Rex. The latter, who is none other than Jean Moulin, asks him to become his secretary...

In the southern zone, most of the major Resistance networks are opposed to Rex. Behind the anti-Nazi ideal, Daniel discovers a dangerous knot of vipers. He also discovers the enormous political stakes behind these disputes between Resistance fighters. When Rex is called back to London, Daniel is entrusted with the heavy task of succeeding him in France. To establish the authority of De Gaulle, contested by the Allies, Rex wants to create the National Council of the Resistance gathering all the movements, the democratic and resistant political parties. Daniel attends the creation of the CNR : the event will forever change his life...
