Diego is a penniless "terrunciello" who lives in a studio flat in the back of a bar whose owner, Marco, always despairs of seeing him pay the rent. The young Marcello and the cashier Jole also work at the bar. Other characters are some regular patrons such as Taverna, Icio and above all the somewhat "built" impresario Minniti, always in a raincoat, hat, cigar and dark glasses, with his exhilarating theatrical entrances into the room. The format is that of the sit-com in which, in the background of the bar, all the cabaret and comic exuberances of Abatantuono in his double character are given vent.
